What is a Passive House/Passivhaus?
Passive House, also referred to as Passivhaus, is a voluntary energy efficiency standard that delivers exceptional comfort for occupants while drastically reducing the energy required for heating and cooling. These buildings are constructed with precision and care, following a rigorous design and construction process guided by five core principles established by the International Passivhaus Institute in Germany.
The key principles include:

Our fees and associated scope of works are split into stages, typically;

Every project is different and not every client wants to commit to engaging an Architect for all stages so we offer flexibility in the scope and fees based upon individuals needs.
Architects often charge a percentage fee based upon the Overall Construction cost and the Architects fees are reconciled (adjusted) at the end of each stage as the Construction cost changes.
Our fees are aimed to be competetive and at Studio Gordon we believe that a fixed fee for each stage of works offers clients greater clarity and comfort in knowing what they will end up paying from the start.
Are other Sub-consultant fees included in the fee (e.g Structural Engineer, Planning Consultant, Energy Rater etc) ?
No, these are seperate to the Architectural fees. We can provide advice on which other consultants are likely to be required for your project and give an estimate of the fees involved, but these consultants will need to be engaged seperately.
I have my own Interior Designer that I would like to use, is this a problem?
No, not at all. We are happy to collaborate with other designers and consultants. As part of our typical scope of works we include full specification of fixtures, finishes including all interior materials and colours. If clients would rather use an alternative consultant for a specific part of the project (interiors, landscape, etc) we are happy to work together.
